If you considered shipping her she'd find a home much faster(which would be the best for her). When I bought Lola the lady hadn't shipped before but after talking to me and feeling comfortable, she agreed to. For some of us, traveling to another state isn't even an option. I'm a SAHM who's husband works very hard and asking him to watch the kids while I fly to another state wouldn't be a great idea or traveling in a car with two boys would be a nightmare. Heck, I can't eve travel in my own state farther than an hour or two.
As long as she's healthy, she'd be just fine. You can take as much time as you want talking to people on the phone, have them e-mail you pictures of their home and yard, tell you about themselves, etc. When my sister rehomed her bulldog she did that. Just because you meet someone, doesn't mean they'll be what they appear, the more you talk to someone and get to know them the better. I don't think Kenzie will be traumatized by a short flight if it means she'll find her forever home. The older she gets the harder it will be...on both of you. |
