Seems to me it usually took about a week before their full personality came out. That baby is very young and it's whole world has changed. Sounds like you're doing all the right things to make it feel secure and learn to trust you. When you notice that it needs to go take it to the litter box, place him in it and gently say "go potty". When he does tell him "good boy to go potty" and give him a little treat. Leave the pee in the box for a while so he can tell where he went. He'll put it all together before too long.
