Default Welcome my new Yorkie - Tucker!

Well, this was pretty quick. I connected with someone through the board who had one male Yorkie 4 and a half months old. He just came home and he's sitting here next to me in my bed in his little bed. He's so cute and so sweet. I think he's very nervous and scared. He seemed very close to the other dogs in his household and was close to one of the kids in it. He's so sweet. He keep coming over to me wanting to be held.

I setup a playpen for him in the kitchen, with his crate and a litter box (with a puppy pad in it - because he's puppy pad trained currently). I also threw a bunch of his old toys in there. I was sitting with him in there. I think he's clearly tired, I went into my room and when I came back he was right in his crate! I guess I won't have any problems crate training him.

He's being really nice, but I think all this calmness is more because he's sad and scared that he left his place. He did poop twice on the floor (not on the litter box), but as I read here I didn't punish him at all for it because I didn't see him do it. He also peed on the floor. Right now he's just sitting on the bed. I think I should stay with him until it looks like he wants to go to the bathroom and then I'm going to carry him right over to his litter box. Is that the best course of action?

I'm going to stay home with him the next two days to make sure he gets accomodated to his new circumstances. Based on everyone's experience here, how long does it traditionally take for your new puppy who might be used to an old home to cheer up? Should I be worried?
