I've had 2 life threatening experiences where Benadryl has saved a dog. Once, an adult female found a toad at night on the back patio and just had to put her mouth on it. Her eyes rolled back, she foamed at the mouth and was going into convulsions. While my husband was grabbing his clothes and car keys, I grabbed the Benadryl, and she responded to it almost immediately. She was fine the next day. Another time, an 8 week old pup ate a bee while playing in the yard. He had an extreme reaction to it. Again, the vet credited Benadryl with saving his life. This was about 7 years ago and he's just as healthy as can be. (lives with my grand-daughter). I seldom use it, but I err on the side of caution on the dosage. I start with 1 ml per pound, and figure I can always give 1 more. I'm glad to hear your baby is okay.
