this is what I do and what I tell every yorkie/maltese/etc. owner that comes in for grooming. Buy yourself a small flea comb. Take a warm damp cloth and wet the area around their eyes. Then use the flea comb to comb out the goopiness. Instant clean!
Just make sure you wet the area before combing the junk out. Doing it without wetting it makes it harder to slide out and that just makes the babies angry.
