When I got my Bichon several years ago - I registered him - got the papers - put them in a desk drawer - and have never looked at them since. And - since he is a neutered pet - I agree - this was a waste of money.
Soooooo - when I got my Yorkie, I didn't register him. I couldn't think of any reason to do so.
So - in the end - I think it's just a personal choice - you might consider buying him an outfit and some toys with the same money --
**** Few of us would do this - but a donation to the local humane society would be a much better way to spend this money.
