It's not possible, cats and dogs have different numbers of chromosomes. the cat probabldfy adopted the puppies when her kittens died.

Horses and donkeys can mate because there is only one chromsome difference between the two, but their offspring is a mule which is sterile.

There is no way a dog would even be interested in mating with a cat even if she would allow it which is also highly unlikely.

God made all the species different for a reason.

I believe that the people believe it is true, and they are not trying to play a hoax. but the scientists should know better.
