Frontline is absorbed into the the skin and secreted by the oil glands so it doesn't wash off. Advantage is topical and claims to be water resistant. We sell both where I work and lots of people that try advantage switch to frontline because it seems to work longer. Frontline also kills ticks and advantage doesn't. So if you are washing your dog often as most of us do with yorkies, I would use frontline.
