Hi! Congratulations on your new puppy! Your thread caught my attention because when I brought home my puppy in August at 11 weeks she was coughing and sounded very congested. Every single time she woke up in the morning or from a nap she would cough, I felt so bad for her. I We went through three different antibiotics at the vet (she was being treated for kennel cough) and nothing worked. I even had x-rays taken to make sure it wasn't collapsed trachea! Finally my vet wanted to try one more antibiotic(zithromax) and it worked. She was on it for ten days and the cough disappeared. However, after she finished the antibiotic her cough came back but not half as bad as before! She coughs occasionally when she wakes up but after researching online for weeks and weeks about kennel cough because I was so worried, I realized that it is actually quite common for yorkies to cough occasionally. So Bella is so much better now and her cough does not concern me anymore. Definitely let your vet know about everything and see what they say about it. Good luck and keep us posted!
