no matter if your male is house trained, keeping him intact is sure to turn him into a leg lifting marking machine in time, specally after he has been exposed to his first female all bets are off...
He may continue to lift and pee outside...but once inside he will mark everything insight...door wells, furniture, inside shoes is always fun and of course marking you like you were a tree stump planted just for him.
One way to help control, take a large plastic bottle fill it with sand (for stability) wrap it with fabric (which can be washed and replaced) place it on a pee pad...they will often lift their leg using this more often than your furniture and easier to clean up.
