It was so cute I had to share.
'Twas the Knight before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a Yorkie was stirring, not even a mouse;
The chewbones were all hidden behind a curtain with care,
In hopes that Mom wouldn't find them there;
The kids were sleeping all tucked in their beds,
While visions of presents danced in their heads;
And mom in her 'kerchief, and I in my bed,
Had just cuddled up with a warm Yorkie's head;
When down in the kitchen there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter;
Down the stairs I flew and was there in a flash,
Pushed open the door in time to hear another crash;
The dog food was spread around a newly washed floor,
Gave reason to wonder if this had happened before;
When, what to my wondrous eyes should appear,
But a befuddled Yorkie just sitting on his rear;
He looked all around, the floor it was slick,
As I approached him now mad, he ran away quick;
I gathered my wits and called him by name,
And he came to me instantly, all full of shame;
'Now, Katey! now, Gabby! now, Katey and Pookie!
and, Kimmi and Kelsey! and Kricket and Dukey!
They all came a running to see who was in trouble!
Knowing I'd yell at this messy rubble!
But as we know, our Yorkies are all so dear,
We can't stay mad at this time of year;
So clean up the mess, and pat their cute heads,
And put them all back into their beds;
At daybreak they wake us, they have to go outside,
To do what they have to, and maybe go for a ride;
Their eyes they do twinkle, their tongues all so pink,
They stop by the bowl and take a big drink;
Their eyes oh so innocent,
Their ears so alert;
Their hair so silky,
And they act to pert;
I know there's a heaven!
It just has to be!
And in it there are Yorkies,
All running free;
At this time of year, with holiday cheer,
