I am so sorry to hear about your trials. There really are so many positions out there if things start getting tough. Like mentioned, a lot of stores hire Christmas help, that should get you through to the 1st of the year.
I think it's just awful that companies let people go right before the holidays. Don't they have any heart? They could at least keep their employees till right after the first of the year...but let them know it's coming.
