First, congratulations on your new Yorkie! Puppies are wonderful, aren't they?

What you are doing sounds great. The only thing I want to be sure is that you are heavily praising and treating for appropriate pottying. When puppy potties where you want him to, you need to make it clear that you are extremely pleased - Give a yummy treat that you have with you for those occasions and in a high pitched, little girl voice: "you are sooo good, you are the best puppy ever". Make a big deal over it!!!

Water, definitely, needs to be out all day. I, personally, am not a fan of free-feeding. BUT, if your Yorkie is quite small or has ever had problems with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), then you need to have food available at all times.

How you use the crate is entirely a personal decision. It's up to you. At 10 weeks, it would probably be difficult for him to go all night without pottying, though. I'd leave the pad.

Above all, be patient. It will take some time (possibly, quite a bit of time) before your Yorkie is fully house-broken.
