When I took Scampers teeth in to get pulled, they shaved his paw and it is a good thing to because he ended up needing an iv. I woulden't worry about them shaving the paw, it is just hair it will grow back. The way they shaved Scampers was so that the hair above the shaved part covered it so you coulden't even see that he had no hair on the one part. Sometimes they can get to the vein without shaving it but if they can't they need to shave it, otherwise they could risk damaging the vein. I always tell them I prefer them not to shave it if they can but if they have to it is alright with me.
