I've sd. it before, and I'll say it again...

...sometimes rehoming is the best choice for the owner AND the dog.

It doesn't mean that you're being selfish. Sometimes it takes the greater love to give the animal up, in order to give it a life that will (for whatever reason) be better for it.

Two of my dogs (one yorkie, one choc. lab) were "rehomed" with us by families who just weren't able to meet their needs.

Good luck to you (and to everyone who is too scared to admit that this is a decision they are struggling with!) It happens. People need to deal.

(there, I got in a pre-emptive blast for you! lol)
