I dunno.. it never occurred to me to try to teach either of them to jump onto the couch - Ruthie tries her darndest, but she just ends up hopping up and down on her back legs which is really bad for her knees, so I try to discourage it as much as possible. I have no doubt that she'll one day make it up on his own. Oscar prefers to be 'air lifted'. I always thought it was kinda good that I controlled when they were allowed on the furniture and when they were not.
