Cry Allergy

My 3 year old female has some kind of skin allergy going on and after a trip to the vet today, he found a single flea and said it appeared to be a typical flea allergy. (I use Frontline religiously.) He gave her an injection. I'm sorry, I don't know what it was called, but I think it was akin to prednisone. I'm to update him in a week.
Maybe this is all I can do for now, but does anyone have additional ideas as to what I can do to give her relief. She is better this evening, but not surprisingly, sleepier than usual, although initially, she was full of pep and playing with her toys.
