That is why I haven't decided if I want to breed Ritzie. I am aware there is always risk, just not sure if I want to put my little one at risk. That is why I want to learn so much before I make a decision. Thank you for you post. That is so sad and I don't know if I could handle that. Just want to learn as much as I can, especially about Yorkies in general.

No doubt, there are plenty of people on here and sites you can read to learn all about breeding. I just want to add and ask that you look at each of these threads so you can go into breeding with the full knowledge that you may be risking the life of your dog.

These are just the recent deaths after childbirth, there are countless others on here and countless more whose stories will never be told.
