I think you may still have a silk coat. I was almost sure Abbie would be cottony, because her coat matted so easily as a pup. I ran out and got all sorts of product to make grooming easier. Now, it sits in my closet, as I don't need it! I think I was sure at 6 months, when I noticed it was getting less thick, and much more easily brushed. Then, I also asked (here) about the odd green in her eyes (shown here at nine months). I couldn't 'correct' it with my image editor. LOL She looks like an alien dog: ("
I am from the planet Yorkthon. Give me all your empty water bottles!") Someone said that the green reflection is an indication of silk coat. Though the natural sheen is lovely, her coat is very fine, and does grow quite slowly. At 11 months, it's about an inch from the floor. And, it's very hard to keep a bow in her topknot! The hair on her head is long - covers her face (lol), if left to fall free - but, it's so fine it crawls out of everything! I have no problems with grooming, since she doesn't matt at all. She revels in 'primping', and often comes back for more when I've told her she's "done", as if to say: "ummmmmm.....I think you missed a spot, mom"
