It's very true. I have heard of people keeping their yorkie babies for 12 weeks, sometimes 11. It is better for you if you wait because you won't run into legal issues if something should happen when a fragile baby is taken home. (I'm guessing you breed? Excuse me if I'm wrong.)

Most legit breeders who breed any type of small dog keep them until at LEAST 10 weeks. This protects you, the puppy, and of course, the adopter.
