Thanks again to everyone!
Polly is still throwing up some yellow foamy stuff and wont eat..is
drinking that is good but she wants NOTHING to do with the babies.
I held her down and let one at a time latch on to the one teat that
is a bit bigger...they are strong thank goodness but after they were
6 hours old and not gotten a response out of mom...I had to step in.
Before she could walk she would sit on top of them, never once licked
them and only glanced in their direction when they cried. I am so afraid
she is NOT going to bond.
I did get them all to pee and poop..it was so cute...offered it to Mom but
she looked away as to say, "Youve got to be kidding"!
The little boy is smaller but all three will drink from a tiny bottle.
Will force them to suckle again tonight and continue tomorrow but
I am skeptical. Most Moms would respond to cries no matter how
bad they felt. She is resting a foot away and one is crying now..
she doesnt even acknowledge it. I am so sad for her...she is a very
loving dog to everyone and other dogs..
Will give the glucose solution next feeding. THANK YOU so much, I have
fed orphaned baby kittens and puppies but never this young. so worried!!
