I have also heard of the 12 week preference but Tatum came home with us at exactly 9 weeks old. We have never had a single health issue. I believe she weighed right at 1.5 pounds when we took her to the vet the next day. I really trusted our breeder after having long conversations with her and felt that she wouldn't send our baby home with us if she wasn't comfortable with it. Good luck on the new pup!
