IMO.....that is definetly too young! I have a Litter of 3 (2 females & 1 male)
they are 10 wks old now, but I am keeping them until they are 12 weeks old.
I got Artie when he was 20 weeks old and he was much easier to train and very calm and well adjusted compared to Abigail, I got her @ 7 weeks old she barely had all of her teeth and she was definetely too young and alot more work. Her Breeder normally lets them go @ 8 weeks, but since I already had Artie and he was a year older she thought it would be easier? I was @ the Vets. office all the time w/c I think her Breeder should have dealt with @ the time and she would have if she was still with her? I personally don't mind keeping them longer or spending the extra money @ the Vets. to make sure they are healthy, but I did get Lucky b/c both Parents are Healthy (Good Breeding helps alot) I feel that the extra time makes them better "Dogs"!
Abigail stopped nursing them @ 6-7 weeks, but that has nothing to do with their Developement & Behavior skills as a "Pack" or Family unit/structure.
So far I'm maintaining the "Alpha" position in my eyes anyway?
At that age they are too much like Babies and alot of WORK!
I care for them and I Love them all, but I prefer a independent, stable, confident puppy that's secure in his environment, rather than having to constantly worry and watch them I can't handle that much stress. Just walking and children are high risks @ that age. Good Luck!
