I got my Yorkie from a so called reputable show/breeder at 7 months in Sept. He had pre-blood work and individual chemistry, before castration which was $112.50. In addition to the castration, 21 baby teeth extracted,"chin mass removal" (which the breeder failed to mention), lab biopsy of chin mass removal, overnight stay, and pain meds, for a total of $731.08. The grand total with lab work was $843.58. The chin mass removal and biopsy were more then the castration ($238.00). The bad news was the breeder. The good news for the Yorkie was that I bought him. The good news for me, ???, jury still out. He's aggressive towards other dogs (breeder failed to mention before I bought him but knew this). We have a behavoir/vet specialist working with him. He attacked my other little dog. I won't even list his surgery costs to repair a ripped throat or my damaged thumb removing him from the other dog's (currently 2lbs. 9 oz. of trauma) jugular.
