Venus is 5 months. At night, I start her out in her crate. After the first time she wakes me to go potty, I take her to potty, then let her sleep the rest of the night in the bed with me. Seems that keeps her from getting me up again, and I do sleep quite late at times. Before I started doing that, she's wake me up 2 more times to go potty before I got up
I have pet stairs, and it doesn't look like she's pottied on the bed, so I have to assume she's going to her pee pads.
I'm sure you'd regret giving your dog to your mother-in-law. Remember once you give her away....you don't get them back no matter how close of a relative they are.
