My Boykin Spaniel had a phantom pregnancy this year. She was near no male dogs during this period of time but she got a big belly, I could even express milk from her at her biggest, just like she was ready to whelp...it is the oddest thing!! Now her belly is finally back to normal size and the symptoms are gone but it took a long time for her to return back to normal...hope this helps..
