"I know a woman that trains puppies and she says that at 12 weeks, that is much too late to send them to their new home. She knows her stuff, so I listen to her, but I'm sure the opinion differs."
I'm sure you trust her opinion but 12 weeks is certainly not too late to begin training a new puppy. What about all the adult dogs that are adopted later in life? From 8 to 12 weeks is a very important time in a dog's socialization process. An extra week or two with their litter mates won't hurt a puppy even if their moms don't want them around. |
