The lack of replies is probably because of the bickering on the other political thread - and it got closed.
I agree, it is time for a change in this country on many fronts - I'm very relieved about the results of the election and the resignation of Rummy.
My fundamental beliefs are aligned with the Democrat party - I believe the goverment should help its people and I am proud to be associated with the party that has furthered many social programs/policies such as Social Security, Workers Compensation, the 40 hour week, child labor laws, Medicare, banking regulation, collective bargaining, civil rights, integration, environmental protection, just to name a few.
Of course, I respect other points of view - even if I don't agree with them. That is what makes this country so great, we can agree, disagree or be completely without opinion!
