The one thing I want to say about getting a black one is that if black is really what you want, be sure to talk to someone with more experience with that color to make sure that the black puppy you get will STAY black. I originally wanted a black one also but was told that gray/silver ones start out as black puppies and the main way to tell if they'll change is to look at the hair between the pads on their paws and if there is any white, supposedly they will more than likely turn gray/silver. Can't prove that personally because when I saw this litter of red poodles, I fell in love and stopped looking for a black.

Thanks for the tip......I will remember that when we look. I guess we would be able to tell too from the parents OR maybe not because they may not turn until they get older??? Ummmm....I need to check this out!
