Animal Smiley 049 Ears that are Flopped....

Hi,
I can relate...my puppy Yorkie's ears were standing straight up when he came home with me and then suddenly around 4-5 months old his ears flopped. We had no idea why and just assumed they would go back up again on their own. We later learned that this was normal for some dogs, especially while teething and if the hair on the ears has not been shaved. By the time we learned what to do, it was too late for us to tape them. So when we got our second Yorkie we decided to have our groomer "tip" her ears and cut her nails because I was terrified to do it myself. It can be a scary thing to do yourself if you are not used to it, and I admit that the thought of a sharp object next to my baby's delicate ear was frightening to say the least. So I happily took her to a professional. Some people don't realize that you can take your little one to a groomer and have the ears shaved while you wait for a very small fee (my groomer charged $5.00) and I had it done every 2 weeks until we felt she was old enough to go in for the "works". I must add that I am not a groomer or a doggie expert...just a plain and simple Yorkie Lover. Also, as a very proud mommy I can't go without saying that my little boy is simply 'perfect' with one ear up and one ear down! I have added a link below for a website that has interesting Yorkie info, you can check it out for a 'step-by-step' description of the Ear Taping process: glassyorkies.homestead.com
http://glassyorkies.homestead.com/

On the left side click on "Hypoglycemia" and scroll down about halfway, you'll see 'Taping The Ears' with details and photos.

Hope this is helpful!
P.S. One more thing... your puppy is so GORGEOUS! What a face! Best of Luck to you both! Yorkies are both amazing and very addicting, like potato chips you can't stop at one!
