Today was a sad day...we lost the little girl. Last night I was supplemental feeding her when all of a sudden, she just went stiff and stopped breathing!!!! It was like she someone had blew her up with air. Very weird. She hadn't even really sucked anything when this happened. Right away I starting rubbing her very briskly and she came back to life. I really didn't think she'd make it throught the night but she did...even made it til this evening. I don't know what happened. She was doing fine. We took the mom out to potty and when she went back in the kennel, I noticed that the little girl was having trouble breathing. I took her out and she felt kinda cool, so I starting warming her slowly, she started to move around then all of a sudden...BOOM...she quit breathing again and went stiff. OMG...it was horrifying to see. Poor baby. I tried to bring her back, but that time it didn't work. I did check in her mouth and everything looked fine...so it wasn't cleft. I think the mom knew something was not right with her, because a few times yesterday she acted like she didn't want to tend to her.
Anyone have any idea what went wrong??
