Yes, just make little quick trips to the store for only 10 minutes or so and see how he'll react. He probably will be so happy when you come home it will make you feel guilty
but if you do it a little at a time he'll always know that you'll return. Can you have someon maybe check on him while your at your daughters graduation? That might ease your worries...
