We got Jaxon in January and with being so small at the time, we trained him to use the pads. Gradually he started going outside more during walks. Late this summer we built an enclosure off our deck so he can go out there for his business in the morning, rather than a walk. I have been using the poochie bells and he's getting better with ringing those. He'll still use the pads but much less often. Sometimes it takes some convincing to get him outside when it's cold.
