Raw meat and kibble digest at different rates (kibble takes longer). If you feed them together at the same meal it forces the meat to stay in the stomach longer and you're giving bacteria a better chance at multiplying.
If you feel the need to give kibble, give meat in the AM and kibble in the PM (or vice versa).
