Well, I would scold Toby loudly and firmly and tell him "bad" when he would mess in the house

(I'll probably get flack for this from other YT) and then take him outside and say "Potty outside." But I would also loudly and excitedly commend him when he would tell me he had to go out.

And praise him galore when he would come back in after going.

I always give my furbabies a small piece of white american cheese as a reward for the poo poo thingie and also an animal cracker.

But they only get a piece of cracker when they tinkle outside. I know he did not like the correction as he would come in and hide under my bed and then sneak out and see if I was ready to forgive. Once I called him, he would come over and make up....that's the fun part.

Took me two weeks total to have him completely housetrained and able to leave him full reign of the house. He HATES wet grass and I have to stand there and coach him to "get out there and go potty" and he does this little dance on the lanai and then zoom out he goes. Keep giving it your 100%!! I did not go anywhere for two weeks.......it was great having my husband do all the errands.

But like I said I ate, played, slept and breathed dog until he was trained and I understand not everyone is in a position to do that.
