Seems to me that bows go with Yorkies -- it's almost a hallmark of the breed.
So - it sure shouldn't matter whether it male or female. (After all - men wear "bowties.")
And - like a lot of you mentioned - some colors are more masculine than others.
***** And - I have seen a few ties that aren't really bows - so, they would be an option too.
