I wonder about two things.....
1) Most people and animals are not supposed to eat or drink anything before surgery - I'd double check about your puppy needing "a snack."
2) Here I go sticking up for a vet again --
I am just wondering if - when the receptionist asked the vet for you if the liver and kidneys had been tested --- if he didn't wonder if you knew something that he didn't know - regarding your pup's liver and kidneys. And asked the receptionist to ask you why you were wondering. I can see a vet being busy and asking the receptionist to go back and ask you why you were wondering about this......to find out if there had ever been any liver or kidney problems that he didn't know about.
I really doubt the vet meant for you to feel that whatever they did was "none of your business." Can't believe this. I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
