 Water consumption question.....
Is there a guideline or rule of thumb about how much water a puppy should be drinking? Jo will be 6 months old in a few days and he weighs 2 pounds 9 oz. I keep a water bottle on the door of his kennel and I put a stainless steel dish of fresh water next to his food every morning. When we had our female here with him I was filling water bottles 2 to 3 times a day and I always saw them both drinking but now that he's here alone I don't see him drinking very often, just a few laps here and there but not much at any one time. He shows no signs of being dehydrated, he's healthy, the plumbing is working fine and he has a good appetite. He eats Innova puppy dry food and I just started giving him Wellness canned puppy food a couple days ago, either mixed with his dry food or as a midday meal. He loves baby carrots so I thought about putting some carrot juice in his water to see if he'd drink a little more. Should I be worried? |
