It is a six foot long piece of ply wood and it is 2 ft. wide. We put it up with brackets, and it has a piano hinge the whole length of the board. The board is the same Highth of the bed, and is right below the window so the furbabies can stand up and look out the window. Than we just put a screw in the wall with a screw in the ply wood so I can lift the long board up when making the bed. I had 6 dogs at the time and their six beds fit on just right, they all knew which bed was theirs and the fact that the board was hinged to the wall and also had brackets the puppies could not fall off the bed. They now sleep in the SunRoom with me on the bed, as I turned my bedroom into a sleeping and play room for my fur babies. I will look through some of my pictures and see if I can find one I can post. It really worked well as before the dogs would sleep between my husband and i and with the board they sleep against the wall and my husband and I have the whole bed. I think you would love to do one as you babies just sooooooooo want to sleep with you and that way you have your bed and they have theirs.
