I'm sorry about your little one. We too have a fenced in yard off our three season room, and last spring let our little Bella out to potty. She was only out about five minutes, and when I went to call her in we saw her lying motion less in the sandbox. We took her to the emergency vet (This was 9pm at night) and they thought it may have been LiverShunt, as her enzymes were very very high. The next day, she spent the day at our regular vet and it turned out to be a spider bite. We have brown recluse spiders in our area, along with other types. She is fine now, but we thought we were going to lose her. My point in bringing this up is that perhaps, your little girl too was bitten by a spider or some kind of other bug? One will never know what happened to her, but maybe others can learn from what both you and I went through. PLEASE, even if your yards are fenced and appear safe DO NOT LEAVE your Yorkies unattended. Small dogs can't fight off things that a much larger breed may be able to and because of their size, you have very little time to react and get them help. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Elaine.
