I voted 50 as my dog has a puppy cut, I'm tempted to start growing it though... For now on, I wouldn't pay more BUT if he was a show dog with long beautiful coat that somehow got matted badly (I'm sure owners of dog with long flowy coat take care of it all the time) I'd pay as much as necessary. But then, why do you let your dog go like that if you want a long coat? They're very time consumingm huh? And sitting through the whole day of dematting must be a terrible experience for the pooch. In NY area we pay a lot, I agree. First cut, my pup was matted and they brushed him out a little on the back. The rest got shaved down or trimmed a lot. It cost me 60, yesterday he went for a bath and sanitary, plus general clean up... this time 45. Around 50-60 per hour would be reasonable, JMO.
