But - I think that an underbite or overbite is something that a dog is born with....and sometimes you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it. But - it sure keeps them from being able to enter the show ring.
If your dog doesn't have a bite problem now - I wouldn't worry about his getting one in the future. But do follow your vet's advise as far as his teeth go.

I agree, I THINK it's something they are born with. It looks like someone with false teeth, when they take their teeth out, the way the bottom half of the jaw is sticking out. Gizmo has an underbite. I don't see it on him as much anymore, but if I can find a pic I'll post it.
