I spent over $600 on a lovable mutt from the pound not a month after we adopted him. Took him in for vaccinations and he wound up with Parvo. We didn't like it but never considered not paying -- he was our responsibility the minute we left the pound. Back then $600 was a lot of money too. But I am sure whatever ours wind up needing, we will do, even if we have to ask for a payment plan. They give so much -- they deserve whatever we can do for them.
