He is over 8 months old now..I don't know how long until they get their original color but I'm pretty sure mine is going to stay that color. My other yorkie is a female (Candee,) and she is 14 months now and she stayed black and brown also, except for her head...But then my other little girl Lola is 5 months old and she is already turning colors, her whole head is almost grey..

Here is a picture of all 3 of them together..First one is Candee, second Lola, third is Nemo..

Edited...Lola is only 4 months old in this picture and see how her hair color is already changing to a very light color
