Guess I am lucky because although I usually groom mine myself, I do occasionally take them to the vet's office if they get mats that I cant deal with. They charge less than $20.00 and that includes a bath and trimming their nails. So I am tooo spoiled to be spending even $50.00 to have someone else do it. I took one of my Shih Tzu in recently and they expressed anal glands, trimmed nails, bathed, trimmed up hair around his eyes and it cost me around $15.00.
I dont know what they charge everyone else. I used to take 2 dogs in weekly and negotiated a price for bringing them in that often. Those 2 have since gone to the Rainbow Bridge but I think they are still giving me a special deal on my current pups.
I did take my oldest yorkie in once for a "trim" and got way more "trimmed" than I bargained for. She has a really slow growing coat so took forever for it to get any length back to it. But except for this one incident I have been satisfied with the service and the price charged.
