She sounds like a careless breeder ( to say the least), but accidents can happen. BUT when they do you DO NOT sell them with AKC papers or anyother registration papers PERIOD! Unless you DNA the sire , dam and ALL the puppies. I think it's $40 each dog with AKC. Her careless mistake, thats the price she needs to pay if she is honest! If she doesn't DNA she need to be honest and say that it's possible they are mixed and sell them without papers and for a lower price. AKC is not fool proof thats for sure. You are required to DNA your studs after a certain amount of litters, however they do not check the DNA results right away and compare the results against the said sires DNA. It's random DNA checks that find the problems. Why even issue a DNA cert. for a dog if they don't check right away to see if it is correct? You would think AKC would be all over that info. you gave them but she will get away with it unless she gets a kennel check and they do DNA onthat litter at her house, or if that litter comes up for a random check at the AKC office. Anyway, I'm glad you are not going to support a breeder that does breeding/business like that. |
