I'm sorry for your loss - sending prayers to you, all his students, faculty, and family. And on the private funeral, maybe she will have a public memorial for him at a later date. I realize how you feel by her wanting family only, and I don't mean anything by this but, his death was sudden for everyone, especially his family. And maybe this is something they had discussed before and she's honoring his wishes. My heart does go out to you and all the students who would like to say their goodbyes but don't give up on the fact she may be working with the school to hold a public memorial there at a later date.
