It is quite common and this is one reason a lot of vets and yorkie owners put off spaying or neutering until the dog's adult teeth come in in case any baby terth need pulling, they can do it at the same time. How old is Sydney? I am surprised your vet didn't mention this.

There are things you can do to encourage or help the teeth fall out including certain foods and play toys designed for teething. My daughter's 8 month old had a double row and he hasn't been neutered yet, but most of the baby teeth have now fallen out so the vet will only have to pull a few when he goes under anesthesia.
