Please don't use a collar with a leash for walking or anything else. Collars should be decorative only or not worn at all.

Try a different type of harness. Step-in harnesses go nowhere near the mouth. There are many members here who make harness vests that also are nowhere near the mouth, look very cute and are highly functional. We have several by Tiger's Mom at go.fetch.home.comcast.net
