I could be wrong BUT, I think that the stem cells needed come from fertilized eggs like those used for invitrol fertilization. The ones used for research are those that would otherwise have been discarded. I heard one political type the other day say, when told that these would otherwise be discarded and asked what should be done with them, he said they should be adopted. In some cases there are laws that prevent this. So should they be flushed or thrown out like so much garbage? Why isn't possibly saving someone else's life a more noble use?
